Where are you currently living and how has 2025 been for you so far?
I live in Irkutsk. It is famous for being located near the largest lake in the world - Baikal. Like other years, 2025 is full of new creative ideas and inspirations for me. There is only one thing missing - time in a day.

What inspires you to paint themes of spirituality within your art?
Spirituality is the highest manifestation of the soul's activity. And I am inspired first of all by a person who is endowed with a soul. Every person is a universe. A universe of emotions, feelings, thoughts. The soul is the presence of God in a person. This is a phenomenon of the highest order.

Could you tell us about the idea behind your painting 'Blessing of Cape Bruhan To Travel To Another Galaxy'?
At the center of the picture is a magical ritual, thanks to which, after passing the magic wand, the world-famous rock goes on a journey. The idea is that we are all guests in one way or another - on a ball called the earth. We rush through a cosmic cold void around the sun, and the sun around the center of the galaxy. A galaxy falls into the abyss of inner space filled with other galaxies. This dangerous journey requires a blessing.

What are some of the re-occurring ideas or concepts you feel most inspired to weave into your paintings and are there any particular periods of history or artists that have influenced you?
I grew up in a creative atmosphere, my grandfather is an honored master of Khokhloma painting. I could not help but paint, as art objects surrounded me from childhood. Most often I am inspired by beautiful places I have seen while traveling. At the moment I am very inspired by the place I live in. Baikal is one of the greatest places in the world. And it is truly inspiring. The recurring ideas and concepts are mainly that I always give the space of my paintings something mystical. I don't like to just do landscapes, I think that's what a photographer does. That's why I always add some details to the drawings.

Could you tell us about the idea behind your painting 'The Pillars of Creation'?
The Pillars of Creation are famous cosmic dust formations that stretch for light years. Within the gas and dust nebulae, new stars are formed and born. The defining word in the painting is "birth". It refers to the plot composition in the foreground. Mother - child. In the center of the composition are surreal images inspired by incredible forms of cosmic phenomena. This is a portrait of my wife and my child. And my self-portrait. My wife and I are pillars of creation, like gas and dust nebulae. We are all children of the stars.

Where does your love of nature and shamanic themes come from and what lessons have you learned from nature?
It's in my blood. I come from Yakutia. From a remote village. I am a mystic by nature. I absorb the energy of the place I am in. The Baikal region is a place endowed with special power and energy. My ancestors are Tungus and Evenks. The theme of paganism is closer to me than anyone else.

What does the word 'spirituality' mean to you?
This is purity, perfection, intelligence, beauty.
